Spontaneous vegetation is defined as a group of plants that are specific to the Habitat in which they grow, and which nourish themselves through the natural elements that have the ability to help them develop.
\nThe wild plant is in fact a plant that spontaneously grew in the place in which we can find it, where there have been the best conditions for it to settle and expand.
\nTo spontaneously grow, doesn\u2019t mean to grow easily.
\nThe spontaneous act in itself requires synergy and collaboration of forces, a communal effort.\nTo grow means to impact, and to be impacted.
\nPlants, through the way they are built by nature, teach us about decentralized power and horizontal collaboration.
\nTo be a spontaneous plant means to be fluid and adaptive, but also focused and receptive toward what the environment can offer in a specific time and space.\nTo be a spontaneous plant means to be persistent, tenacious, and stubborn.\nYet, to be a spontaneous plant also entails not demanding from the environment what it can\u2019t give.
\nvalorizing qualities, making them thrive, without the careless act of exploiting.
\nWe are also an attempt at spontaneous-vegetation- to- be.\nGrowing, and expanding, in the specific territory that had all the qualities for this ecosystem to grow and flourish.\nTrying to get the best out of each individual, without asking what one can\u2019t give.\nIn an attempt to respect the ground we dwell in, the relationships we mold, and the collaborations we cherish.

\n"La nascita di un paesaggio" \u00e8 un libro edito da Matteo Banzola per il Consorzio di bonifica della Romagna Occidentale, pubblicato nel 2020.
\nLe immagini mostrano come il paesaggio attuale dell'area montana tra le Valli del Lamone e del Tramazzo sia stato definito e progettato artificiosamente in seguito al processo di rimboschimento e bonifica avviato all'inizio degli anni '30.
\nLo stesso libro ha ispirato l'inizio di un percorso didattico, in fase di esplorazione, da svilupparsi congiuntamente tra Fototeca Manfrediana ed Habitat che possa relazionarsi fotograficamente con l'attuale risultato ed effetto dell'opera umana sul paesaggio.
\nLa fotografia documentaristica potrebbe giocare cos\u00ec un ruolo fondamentale anche per conoscere la relazione tra uomo, risorse e paesaggio - in aree dove pastorizia e approvigionamento di legname hanno prima trasformato, poi lasciato spazio a nuove specie di flora non autoctona; che ora pare essersi integrato omogeneamente.

\n\u201cMarchiare la materia\u201d \u00e8 un workshop sull'atto di alterare e obliterare attraverso simboli e forme gli oggetti. In questo senso, si vuole esplorare quanto questo atto possa essere un rituale. Nel mondo animale marchiare il territorio \u00e8 un modo per affermare la propria presenza ed in alcuni casi una presunta propriet\u00e0 su uno specifico contesto. Anche gli umani, fin dalla preistoria, hanno sperimentato diverse modalit\u00e0 per affermare il loro diritto su un bene. Oltre che beni come appezzamenti di terreno o gli animali legati alla pastorizia, con il tatuaggio si marchia il proprio corpo, testimoniando l'appartenenza ad un gruppo, o il passaggio del tempo attraverso rituali. Questa pratica \u00e8 ancora viva oggi nelle strategie di marketing, nell'hyper-branding, fino al marchiare architetture e grattacieli con ad esempio l'effige di una banca e del potere finanziario. Durante il workshop si \u00e8 sperimentato in modalit\u00e0 quasi primitiva e sacra l'atto del marchiare, utilizzando come base gli iconici legni dell'azienda Alpi, timbrati e poi assemblati in diverse forme.

\nThe Nomad Sculpture(s) comes as a construction set inside a fruit box, rigorously found in C\u00e0 de Monti. It is composed of different wooden shapes - resulting from the cut in different scales of Reclaimed Wood\u2019s leftovers, which can be assembled thanks to a series of cutting that serve as joints. The lightness of the sculpture, together with the idea of being movable, challenges the format of the sculpture as something fixed in time and space. The inner playfulness of the project invites the public to assemble and re-shape the sculpture depending on the site, allowing people to interact and engage with the imaginative shapes and contribute to the making of an ever-changing, yet inorganic artefact.

The creature seems endowed with its own life and agency. It emits signals of light and gently rolls along the paths of the woods, often following the river stream while confining itself, for the moment, outside the inhabited towns. It was filmed by a private camera along Via i Monti, a deviation from the state road for Monte Busca. In some confusing images (shooted at night), he glimpses a white shape that almost appears as doubled as if it\u2019s hard to be captured. The news of these facts come also after the receipt in our office of several images of the mysterious balloon, pictured while travelling in the locality \u201cGorgoni\u201d, close to San Benedetto in Alpe.

\nWe are foreigners in a hospitable land. The point of view of the foreigner, also considering the various integration processes in progress, remains crucial for the understanding of the place in relation to the cultural and social dynamics outside the territorial bubble. The balloon of Burrasia represents the stranger who breaks through the local social fabric, who wanders silently but without yet giving explanations about his presence. An unexpected movement that arouses both curiosity and suspicion, veiled by the esotericism of the unknown faces that wander the roads of the village.

\nTo proceed and process while carrying something is an act of care.\nCarrying means bearing weight, bringing things along.

I saw a procession, of people carrying objects. A procession of people carrying symbols. With painted faces, bright eyes, and singing mouths. A whole organism made of flesh and wood, hair and paper, cloths and hearts.\nFrom the house to the holy mountain.

\nThe street starts to go up. It\u2019s time to push a little.
\nWatch out at the Holy Mountain, the ground is slippery. There are rocks. But if they go slowly, all together, they are safe.\nThe organism reaches the top of the mountain.
\nThe objects are placed together, communicating with each other. Naturally becoming one. Somehow, every element matches the other.
\nThere is movement. Things are being switched, changed, just a little. Small adjustments that show shades of attentiveness.\nRocks from the mountain are also collected. They turn into a spiral on the ground.\nConnecting the mountain to the misplaced objects, connecting the people to the place.\nThe sun is starting to settle. The air turns yellow.\nIt is time to go home.
\nBefore leaving, the people look back at the objects, resting peacefully together.
\nSlightly moving, with the wind. A gentle touch.\nIt\u2019s time to let the mountain sleep.\nThe organism recomposes itself. Becoming one again, a human- object apparatus.

\nA way to look back, at what has been done. A way to foresee possibilities for the future.\nActivating the organism, in order for it to live and walk.

(Text written for a performance that took place on the 20th of October 2022 at Habitat during the Megastudio residency.\n\u201cThe Parade\u201d is a short movie that documents this performance, a sacred procession reaching the Holy Mountain.\nEvery resident carried an object created during the workshops taking place in the first year of habitat.\nThe performance ended on the top of the mountain with the creation of a collaborative installation.)
